Dentistry is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of
diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dental treatments are carried out by a dental team, which often
consists of a dentist and dental auxiliaries.
The majority of dental treatments are carried out to prevent or treat the two
most common oral diseases which are dental caries (tooth decay) and periodontal disease (gum disease or pyorrhea). Common
treatments involve the restoration of teeth, extraction or surgical removal of teeth, scaling and root planing and endodontic
root canal treatment. Our Department of Urosurgery is committed to providing patients with quality care based on its expertise

Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping one's mouth clean and free of disease and other problems (e.g. bad breath) by regular brushing and cleaning between the teeth. It is important that oral hygiene is carried out on a regular basis to enable prevention of dental disease. The most common types of dental disease are tooth decay (cavities, dental caries) and gum diseases, including gingivitis, and periodontitis. Regular brushing consists of brushing twice a day: after breakfast and before going to bed. Cleaning between the teeth is called interdental cleaning and is as important as tooth brushing.
